We drove to Fairbury, Nebraska on Monday, where we enjoyed presenting the educational benefits of clickers, whiteboards, and smartpens to teachers from the Fairbury district and many other school districts within ESU 5.
Gina Schneider, Regional Manager from Lumens - our new product line of document cameras, gave a couple of great presentations on what to look for when purchasing a document camera. One of my favorite things she demonstrated with the document camera was the ability to take time-lapse pictures. The science teacher in me got incredibly excited about the ability to take time lapse pictures of science experiments, etc.
In addition to clickers, whiteboards, smartpens, and document cameras, teachers and vendors presented on a wide variety of topics, including iMovie, iPhoto, Moodle, iTouch, distance learning, blogs, digital curriculum, Quizlet, Picasa, Odysseyware, and probably a few others I've missed.
The day ended with prizes and some lucky winners walked away with an Interwrite Mobi, a Livescribe smartpen, and more!
Big kudos to Fairbury Public Schools for taking the initiative to host this great day for participants! Special thanks to Marci Loschen for getting everything scheduled and organizing the event.
