So instead of calling tech support IMMEDIATELY - my first thought, of course - my sense of panic faded enough for me to think logically. Ok...something isn't working. What do I do? So I scurried over to the Livescribe website and thankfully found some good solid advice in a very short time at the Livescribe Knowledge Base. Obviously, I wasn't the only one having this problem (Part of me always takes comfort in that too!).
So, if after the most recent Livescribe Desktop update within the last month or so your Livescribe pen has stopped automatically transferring your notebook pages to Livescribe Desktop (actually your computer is not recognizing your pen, although I was still hearing the little sound my computer makes when it discovers a new toy in the USB port), just follow these simple procedures in the following Livescribe Knowledge Base articles.
Although I can't link directly to the appropriate articles, the articles I referenced are below. The first article, Article 85313, explained my problem and transferred me to Article 85910. So, just access the Livescribe Knowledge Base, type in 85313 in the Search field, and you will be well on your way to your previous life of comfort with your Livescribe Pulse Smartpen.
Whew...I can breathe easy again...
